We’re continuing our journey across Sweden, and our next stop is Getnö.
Where is it located? Getnö is situated next to Åsnen National Park in Småland, surrounded by countless islands. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking for peace and tranquillity while being immersed in nature. The focus here is very much on experiencing the outdoors. One of the things I love most is how you can really make the most of the water. That’s exactly what many visitors are looking for. Personally, this is one of my absolute favourite places. You can stay close to nature while still enjoying the comfort and security of a campsite. Then you can head out to enjoy the stunning sunsets. The owner is also happy to take guests on guided boat trips to spot white-tailed eagles in their natural habitat. It’s incredibly beautiful. And kayaking at sunset is a truly unforgettable experience. What dedication! Absolutely. She is incredibly passionate.
Even though you’re surrounded by nature like this, are there still facilities such as toilets and showers? Of course. That’s one of the great advantages of staying at a campsite—you have access to all the facilities you need while still being close to nature. There are also different accommodation options. You can stay in one of the cottages if you prefer. Many people choose a cottage instead of a hotel room because it allows them to experience nature more closely while still enjoying comfort and the opportunity to meet other guests.
Does staying here increase your chances of spotting a white-tailed eagle? Definitely. Both ospreys and white-tailed eagles are regularly seen here in the Åsnen area. And it’s also a great place for fishing? Yes, fishing is extremely popular here.
