Canoe Safari

Värensleden is a canoe trail that is 110-120km long, that stretches from Asa to Fridafors, through various lakes. Along the trail, there are specific camping spots for those with canoes, as well as regular camping facilities.

Canoe Safari Packages:

At Getnö-Lake Åsnen Resort, we offer various packages for canoe safaris, which includes vouchers/cano camping checks, for staying overnight at the different camping spots. It is possible to start your trip in different spots in the northern parts and then paddle south to Getnö. We have a cooperation with a local taxi company, that can transport you to your desired starting point. A paddle trip in Lake Åsnen, starting and finishing at Getnö, is something we highly recommend for our guests.

Due to the invasive plant the “fringed waterlily”, that has appeared in later years in the southern parts of the canoe trail, we only rent out our canoes in Lake Åsnen. In order to prevent the spread of this plant, it is not allowed to paddle further south than Hackekvarn and Ålshult. The county administration has more information. Experience a canoe safari around Lake Åsnen

By gliding silently in a canoe, you can get closer to nature, you can feel the calm, and admire the wild- and birdlife around you. Paddle through Åsnen’s National park and discover the Big Five of Åsnen: the osprey, the eagle, the blackthrouted diver, the crane, as well as the king of the forest; the moose. After a day’s trip, you may set up camp at one of the specific camping spots. Enjoy the campfire at sunset, and perhaps grill the newly caught perch? We guarantee an unforgettable experience in nature – but on nature’s terms!
