A message from Ingrid

As winter settles over Getnö, the island moves into a quieter rhythm. Looking back, we feel deeply grateful for a wonderful season filled with inspiring guests, meaningful encounters, and a fantastic Team Getnö to work with. As the end of the year approaches, I’d like to take this opportunity to send you warm wishes for the holiday season and all the best for a good new year to come. We hope to welcome you back to Getnö Lake Åsnen Resort in 2026.

GOD JUL och GOTT NYTT ÅR 2026!

This season’s highligths & news

Preparing for a new season

Even though it’s winter and the island is wrapped in calm and silence, we are already preparing for spring and summer. We want to ensure that everything is ready to welcome guests from near and far, and to share this unique place with all who long for nature, space, silence and simplicity.
One of the things we are working on right now is enlarging some of our camping pitches. We find it very important to offer spacious places, and although most of them were already generous in size, there were a few we wanted to upgrade to match our standard.
Another project is the renovation of one of our service houses. It will receive a thoughtful upgrade so that your stay will be even more comfortable and enjoyable next season.

Houses open all year round

Did you know that some of our houses and accommodations are available all year round, so also in winter? Crisp air, star-filled nights, and peaceful silence are here to be experienced. And if you’re lucky, perhaps even ice-covered lakes and snow-covered forests. You are always warmly welcome, no matter the season.

Campers Choice 2026

Camping.se has opened the competition for Campers’ Choice 2026, where guests choose their favorites among Sweden’s campsites. The Campsites with the most votes will be recognized as the Guest’s Favorite of 2026. Voting closes on January 18, 2026.

Vildvård – Caring for wildlife during winter on Getnö Island

Winter is a beautiful time on Getnö Island. But for the wild animals that live here year-round, it can also be a challenging season. During the colder months, animals such as moose, deer, wild boar and even lynx face extra difficulties. Finding enough food becomes harder when the ground is frozen and natural vegetation is scarce. That’s why we pay extra attention to vildvård, caring for the wildlife on the island. Throughout the winter, we support the animals by providing supplementary feeding in carefully chosen locations, helping them conserve energy and stay healthy until spring returns. By looking after the wildlife, we help maintain the natural balance of Getnö Island and ensure that its rich biodiversity continues to thrive.

Nature Reflections

Nature’s quiet winter teachings

Winter may seem still, but beneath the surface, life continues to grow in silence. The forest rests, the water slows, and nature invites us to do the same: to breathe deeper, move slower, and sink into what truly matters.

Just as the trees trust the return of spring, winter reminds us that rest is not the absence of growth, it is part of it. From Getnö Island, a gentle invitation to reflect, restore, and reconnect with what brings you joy and meaning. In the quiet landscapes, inspiration can be found not only in the soft whisper of the wind, the calming rhythm of bare branches, or the pale light of early winter mornings, but also in the wilder side of the season: the sharp cold that clears the mind, the untamed strength of frozen elements.
Let the season remind you that slowing down and embracing stillness, are meaningful parts of the journey, guiding you back into the present moment. Surrender and enjoy!
